It's ok to workout fasted (on an empty stomach)
So you think that you really need food to get you through a workout?
According to some articles, the thought of loading up on carbohydrates has been called into question.
It is true that having carbs before a workout is good and it might even increase performance but what I have read lately it also says that it stops the body from using that stored fat for the needed energy.
Fasted is the optimal state to workout because during that time the body releases insulin to lower the blood sugar, proteins and fats that are absorbed by our digestive system so that the glucose can be transported to muscles and be used for energy.
So now that you know....what are you going to do?
It is ok to workout fasted or if you prefer to have your normal intake of pre-work out or protein before the workout....now you know it is ok.
